Kothari Garh

A residence with a royal touch

Situated in outskirts of Jaipur, this newly constructed residence has a royal touch with a traditional construction techniques.

The landscape amphasises a man made forest and where waterbodies are now home to migrating birds.

The glory of the ' past architecture' has been re-inacted through use of Surkhi (lime mortar), carved stone screens, carved pillars brackets, etc. To facilitate aging of the structure the surkhi mortar in exteriors was intentionally left non painted.

Interiors are complemented by sand stone flooring and by traditional khamira paint, with some decorative art work by local artisans.
